Here’s some information about Rudrabhishekam and Kartika Masam:

  • Rudrabhishekam

A worship of Lord Shiva that is performed with milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugarcane juice, coconut water, bilpatra, and flowers. Some say that performing Rudrabhishekam on Karthika Mondays can resolve health problems, bring peace to the home, and eliminate negative forces.

  • Kartika Masam

A holy month in the Hindu calendar that is dedicated to the worship of Shiva and Vishnu. It is also known as Purushottama Masa, which means “Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu exist together”.

  • Kartik Somavaram

Mondays during Kartika Masam are considered very auspicious for Shiva puja. Devotees often perform Ekadasa Rudrabhishekam on Karthika Mondays.

  • Maha Linga Archana

A sacred seva that is considered especially auspicious during Kartika Masam. During this ceremony, 365 Shiva Lingas are worshipped with Abhishekam to represent the 365 days of the year.

  • Deep Daan
The act of offering lamps (diyas) to the Lord. Lighting a diya before the Lord is said to provide immense religious merits during Kartika Masam.
